Local Area

Llanrhystud is a Welsh seaside village along the cardigan bay ideal for exploring the surrounding country side and beautiful beaches. It is named after the early Christian Welsh St Rhystyd.

The village itself has a lovely community feel and you will always be made to feel a part of it which is one of the main reasons we decided this was the seaside village for us. With the added bonus of being away from it all. Our own little "oasis"

The seafront has a shingle bank with a half mile long sandy beach at low tide. Free parking is available at the end of the beach, should you wish not to take a stroll there. With its panoramic view of Cardigan Bay, Llanrhystud beach is well suited for windsurfing, swimming and general leisure activities.

The beach has extensive views towards Snowdonia to the north and Bardsey Island to the north-west.

The village has a post office/combined convenience store selling your everyday bits and pieces and along the main road of the village a stones throw away from Rose Cottage is The Black Lion which is a family friendly pub serving tasty food.

Leading out of the village is a petrol station with a CostCutter and opposite this is the Barn restaurant.

Many tourists return for the breathtakingly coastal footpath walks that can be found 1.5 miles away from the cottage, easily accessed through the fields Llanrhystud is one of the 11 points along the 65 mile Ceredigion coast to coast walk, where the north end connects the south end.

We love going for an early evening walk to the beach. After dinner from the cottage head towards the seafront, find a spot to relax on and watch the sun come down, maybe even have a picnic or BBQ there. Then end your the evening with a well earned drink on the return journey home at the local !

We hope you can enjoy the relaxed way of this village and appreciate the freedom it gives you to explore all the beaches and towns along cardigan bay. We certainly do!
